Dropped in after a game and totally surprised at the great service, good beer and a quesadilla with real grilled chicken. It was delicious! Jess and Brian were great. It's a dive bar but totally worth your while.

This is a good place for reasonably priced food downtown. The staff is friendly. I ended up getting a cheeseburger, which was quite good. There is also a good beer selection. I could see the chef from where I was sitting, and he certainly was not in any rush to fill the orders, which was a little disappointing. If you're not in a time crunch, which I wasn't, the numerous TVs and windows looking out to downtown will keep you entertained.

Stopped by this place and it was empty but we thought we would give it a try. Ends up this was a great choice! Our waiter was so helpful and the food was delicious! He recommended a local beer to try and it was fantastic. If you are in Detroit don't pass this place up!

Looking for a spot to grab a drink and a quick Nosh after visiting the winter market. The town was overrun with Spartan fans and we were having trouble finding a place with seats. Dejectedly walking back to our car - we spotted Detroit sports bar and grill and are we ever glad we did. They opened in early December - people are starting to find their way in. The upstairs was not open - we took a seat at the bar on the back side. Lots of tvs - it IS a sports bar. Also have a 1990's electronic sign with scrolling sports highlights. Evan was our friendly bartender who took good care of us. Hubby drank his Chardonnay while Katie and I enjoyed hot cider spiked with an apple bourbon and a hot chocolate with kahlua for me. Once we were warmed up - Katie went for bakon vodka with zing zang and I had pear grey goose with club soda. For the Nosh - Rick had a bowl of chili and Katie and I split some bbq wings. Menu is " American bar food " - wings, nachos, spinach dip, burgers, sandwiches - etc. Chili was very thick. Great for topping a hot dog - not recommended for a soup. Wings were fine. Meaty - not overcooked. Served with ranch dressing but no carrots and celery. Hey - they are new - carrots and celery next time. Pleasant conversation with Evan and other customers. The highlight was the row of comfy yellow vinyl seats with cup holders. I could spend an afternoon watching a ball game in those seats. Detroit Sports Bar and Grill is in the shadow of Ford Field and Comerica Park. Stop in before, after or during a game. I'll join you on the yellow seats!
